Tutorial: Thumbarounds

Thumbaround (TA) is a trick other than sonic and pass that has many variations. In this post, I will share to you about some variations of Thumbaround except for thumbaround (basic) and FL TA Rev because I have already posted them.

Thumbaround Reverse (TA Rev)

TA Rev or thumbaround reverse is a thumbaround that spin reversely. We use indexfinger instead of middle (an advanced pen spinner can do it with other than indexfinger) as a starting position.

Thumbaround Harmonic

Thumbaround Harmonic is a combo trick consist of TA and TA Rev that done continously. TA Harmonic only have 2 keys to master it other than TA and TA Rev. They are reflex (all pen spinning tricks needs reflex) and power control.

Fingerless Thumbaround (FL TA)

For me, it is really harder than FL TA Rev. How about giving it a try?

Extended Thumbaround

It is a combo of thumbaround and a FL Around. If you can do the thumbaround and indexaround or another around, I am sure you can do this one.

Double Thumbaround

Double thumbaround consists of a TA and FL TA. It is usually become a finisher after combos.

Fake Double

This combo look like extended TA or double TA, but actually it is different. I don't know how explain this one. Just watch the video.

Thumbaround to Air

It is a combo of TA and an aerial release. After throwing it, you can catch it or you can continue it with another tricks.

Thumbspin

It is a trick when you exactly spin your pen at the top of your thumb. The only problem in this trick is reflex. When you have mastered TA it is usually hard to learn, but still it can be learnt. Don't give up and watch the video.

This is the end of this post. If there is comments or suggestions, you can just comment down here.
It might be the end of the basic tricks post, because I think I have posts all of the basic tricks.
So, if you want to learn an advanced one, please wait until I finished made the posts.

You know what, if you can learn all of the tricks in this post and all in the previous posts, you have already become a successful pen spinner.

See you next time!

Tutorial: Sonics

Sonic is one of the pen spinning tricks that has many variations (It is not the blue one that appear in old games, hahaha). In this post I'll share to you all of the sonic variations except sonic (the basic one), twisted sonic, warped sonic and neosonic.

Are you ready to SONIC?

Demon's Sonic (0.5 Sonic 43-32 -> pass rev 42-21)

This Demon's Sonic is a combo of half Sonic and pass reverse. The trick that you need to learn is
Sonic 43-32. pass reverse can be done in seconds (except for flexibility). Here it is, the tutorial.

Sonic Reverse

Well, it is really the same normal sonic, but this time we do it reverse. Oftenly, people get stuck at the finger reflex. While we do sonic at the same way we do charge, we do sonic reverse with the same way with charge reverse. If you can do charge reverse, it will be easier for you. Ok, it's time for the tutorial. . .

Inverse Sonic

This is a trick that pretty similar with sonic. The difference is that when we do sonic, the pen spins behind our middle finger. While in Inverse Sonic, the pen spins in front of our middle finger. Once again, reflex problem because of mastering a trick with a similar move does happen with this one. Be patient and enjoy the tutorial.

Sonic Rise

Sonic Rise is a combo consist of sonic 43-32 and sonic 32-21. Pretty easy though.

Flush Sonic

Ok, this one really need flexibilty, especially your middle and ring finger. It is really a hard one, I still cannot do it until now. I salute you if you can do it. By the way, this is the tutorial of Flush Sonic.

Sonic Clip

It is a sonic actually, but we do charge while the pen is clipped when we are doing sonic. I don't know how to explain this one, but trust me this is easy.

Ok this is the end of the post about sonic. If there is something wrong please give some comments so I can fix it. See you next post!

Tutorial: Shadow, Around, Twisted Sonic Bust and Triangle Pass

Hello there! This time I will share about the Shadow, Twisted Sonic Bust and Triangle Pass trick. In addition, I think it is good to learn around before the twisted sonic bust.
First of all, these tricks are different from each other, but it can be linked with the palm down twisted sonic.

Well, that is a few info for you. Let's get started!

Shadow

This is a trick where the palm is facing down. The pen starts at any finger slot and does 0.5 rotations in the charge position before traveling up to the top of the hand. The pen should revolve 0.5 times on top of your fingers. As it nears the end of the 0.5 revolutions on top, slowly lift any of your fingers to catch the pen . At the end, a final 0.5 revolutions of charge should end the trick. Doing a total of 1.5 revolutions.

Around

Around is more likely Thumbaround. The difference is that around is done at other fingers.

Twisted Sonic Bust

Twisted Sonic Bust is a palm down twisted sonic with a bust (FL Around) addition. Bust is rarely done individually. I cannot found the video of bust itself, there are only twisted sonic bust.

Triangle Pass

This is one of the popular trick where the pen starts on the top of the end of any of three of your fingers (too many "of" I guess). Usually, the fingers used in this trick are the thumb, index and middle finger. Starts by pushing the pen a bit with your middle finger. The pen should rotate 0.5 times on the thumb and index finger while your middle finger is going back to the first position. So, the result is 0.5 rotations, but it can be done more than that by continously rotating the pen. The more advanced spinner can do this trick on another fingers such as index, middle and ring or middle, ring, and pinky.

Tutorial: The Infinties

The Infinities

Cool Name Huh? Actually, the trick is not really 'infinity' (Almost all combo can be done infinitely). Infinity is a combo consist of wipers and passes. It is a bit hard to put this trick in combos, but still it can be done.

There are four infinitiy tricks, consist of:
-Infinity
-Double infinity
-Triple infinity
-Quadruple Infinity

The Double Infinity does not mean that you do infinity twice (you will know it once you see the video). It is also happen for the triple and quadruple.

Infinity

Double Infinity

Triple Infinity

Quadruple Infinity

I am sorry that I could not explain so much about this trick, but I hope you can learn it from the videos.
See you on the next post!

Tutorial: Neosonic, Fingerless Thumbaround Reverse, and Fingerless Thumbflap Charge Reverse

Here I am again to help you to learn more Pen Spinning tricks. Previously, I have already post the tutorial about how to do some fundamental tricks and another cool tricks.

The next trick that I want to share to you can be use to make a combo with the previous tricks.
Shall we start?

Neosonic

This trick is really easy, I can say that this is the easiest 'sonic' of all.
For the linkage, I usually use this trick after twisted sonic 32-21. So, it will be twisted sonic 32-21 -> neosonic 21-T. It should be the easiest way to link this trick. Here is tutorial video of neosonic.

FingerLess ThumbAround Reverse

Fingerless Thumbaround Reverse (FL TA Rev) is the next trick that should be learnt. Neosonic is not complete without FL TA Rev (At least I think so).

FL TA Rev is not a hard one. You need to feel it, like when you do thumbaround (the normal one).
Now, let's get started!

Fingerless Thumbflap Charge Reverse

Well, this is the next step of FL TA Rev and this trick is optional. You can simply learn it after the FL TA Rev. No need for more explanation, just click the play button.

This is the end of my third post, hope you enjoy doing pen spinning.
See ya!

Tutorial: Twisted Sonic, Warped Sonic, and Double Charge

Welcome back! If you have not learn the basic tricks, you can go back to the previous post
HERE: http://chrisjet98.blogspot.com/2014/08/tutorial-4-basic-tricks-thumbaround.html

This time I will bring you to learn more awesome tricks. It will be harder to learn but it will give you a huge satisfaction. In addition it will make you really cool, confuse your friend, I mean, "How can you do that?".

Are you ready? Ok, Let's do it!

Twisted Sonic

Let's start with the easiest one, it is a bit different from sonic. Sonic got 1x revolution and Twisted Sonic got 1.5 revolution. Maybe, it will be hard to learn because you have learn sonic first, but it's ok. Once again, I recommend you to have a stable pen, so it will ease you to learn.

Usually, people start learning this trick from twisted sonic 32-21 (correct me if I wrong). It means that we start it between our ring and middle finger, and it will ended between the middle and index finger.
Note: If you don't understand why it is called twisted sonic 32-21, you can go to this link
http://chrisjet98.blogspot.com/2013/12/pen-spinning-great-but-cheap-hobby.html

Enough for the explanation, I know you have already been curious with this trick.
Enjoy learning!

Warped Sonic

So, have you learned the twisted sonic?
Allright, next we have the warped sonic.

In my opinion it is important to be learned before we move to double charge. This trick is not hard, but many people stuck at the flexibility problem. I think you should watch the video about how to fix this problem first, I hope it will help:

That's about the flexibility problem solution. You can train your flexibility while learning the tricks though.
So, here is the video to do warped sonic:

Double Charge

Finally! The Ultimate double charge (Many people fail to do this. I hope it won't happen to you)
This one really need patience and pratice. I have passed this moment, because I learn it anytime anywhere as long as I bring the pen (a bit crazy isn't it?). Studying, exams, watching TV (I don't thing I watched the TV).

Here is the video of me doing double charge ^^

This trick is really cool, even it is not an advanced one. It feels like you already have all the things in the world after you successfully done it. Back to the tutorial, don't think about the hard of it. You'll don't it without you know how long have you train. Just Have fun with it.

SO, this is the time to change your world!

Hmm, I think this is the end of this post. I just have one thing for you to know, I have never thing about how long I have trained for a trick. It is about how you are passionate to do this.
At last, one tip I can give to you that I took from KTrinh93 video:

"Pen Spinning doesn't happen overnight. To become a successful pen spinner, you need to learn the 3P's:
Patience, Persistence, Practice"

See you at my next post!

Tutorial: 4 Basic Tricks (Thumbaround, Charge, Sonic, Fingerpass)

Thumbaround

For your information, you can learn any trick other than this for your first trick. Some people can do 'fingerpass' without knowing that he/she is doing pen spinning. However, many people begin learning pen spinning from thumbaround.

First of all, I want to sorry because the video is not mine, but I hope you can learn this trick from this video.
Since this is a basic trick, it won't take you so long to learn. You can use any pen to do it, but I recommend you to use a two sided pen or a pen with two caps (at the head and the tail) so the pen has the same weight at both side or at least stable enough to spin.
So, welcome to the world of pen spinning!

If you has master this trick, I recommend you to continue to the next one. The Charge trick!

Charge

This trick is also an easy one. The only thing that you need is: Practice!

Usually, people learn charge reverse before the normal charge. You can also see it when a drummer spin his sticks. Yeah, it is pen spinning. For you that cannot do the reverse one, here is the tutorial:

Fingerpass

Next, here is the trick I have told you in the beginning. This is pretty easy though.

Sonic

We are reaching the end of the post. The Sonic trick is the hardest among the three other tricks.
Special for this one, an unstable pen is recommended. I cannot explain why, you will know it later.
Enjoy!

Alright, that's all what I can share for now. I hope this post can help you to do Pen Spinning.
See you at the next post!
